Music to My Ears (and eyes)

This Magic Garden is full of fun and puns. The Penny House on Penny Lane was created after a trip to England by the family. We knew we wanted to do a Beatles theme, and wanted to make nearly everything in the garden so we re-created the Beatles iconic album cover, Abbey Road. We transformed stones from the trip into the Beatles themselves, painting them the same color as their suits on the album cover. We hope Penny Lane is in your ears and in your eyes with this Magic Garden.

Make The Penny House

MATERIALS: A wooden birdhouse, 200 pennies, glue, paint, brushes, sand paper, and clear coat. It makes cents that your family wants to make this fun house and it has the paparazzi going crazy in the garden.

1Prep House: If the house is recycled like this one make sure it is sanded and cleaned so paint and coins attach well. It should be totally dry.

2Paint: Paint the entire house in whatever colors you love or match your garden. Be sure to paint the roof too so if pennies don’t totally cover it’s less noticeable.

3 Add Pennies, Door and Clear Coat: Glue pennies from the bottom of the roof to the top, add the door and any window details, then clear coat if using outside
