Zombies - Land of the UNDEAD

The undead can be gross no question, but this Magic Garden makes ‘em really cool. Using this cute, but now rusted recycled tin house from a garage sale, a rotted 1/2 log and some downed branches we created the perfect spooky setting for an apocalypse zombie attack. We made sure the house did not have any sharp edges before the kids started to play. At our house this kind of fun is not just for Halloween, the boys put the zombies all over the garden and you often find a Zombie at the bonfire making s’mores in the Camping Magic Garden.

Make the Magic Garden

Design
  • Are there any cool sticks in the yard you can use?
  • What other characters should be with the zombies?
  • Are there any plants in the garden that look like a zombie’s world?
Create
  1. Find a spooky garden space
  2. Add the house and the spider attack
  3. Add sticks as dead trees (see below)
  4. Place the zombies and humans for battle
  5. Scare some mere mortals!
Connect
  • Do you think zombies are real?
  • Do you think all zombies are mad? Why?
  • How do zombies talk?
  • What do zombies eat?
  • What makes you most scared?

Create A Zombie Land

MATERIALS: This is all natural elements and can be swapped out for what you have in your garden.

1Bury the ends of the rotten log that looks like an arch.

2Place the flat rocks for the Zombies to be on....acting all  menacing.

3Plant the plants and the moss around the Magic Garden.

4Stick the broken twigs/branches into the ground like trees to give it a spooky, undead feel.
