Kids Garden Inspiration: Magic Gardener RuthAnn

We hope this get your kids garden inspiration flowing. This Special Education teacher loves to create Magic Gardens for her grandkids and we love to share ’em. RuthAnn has multiple aged grandkids so used different ideas to create spaces for each age to enjoy. She is inspired by thrifting, going to garage sales and using vintage items she already has around the house. This Magic Gardener has lots of theme ideas, but if you need help, check out this theme helper your creative juices flow.

Kids Gardens Inspiration Fishing Gnomes

RuthAnn created this adorable Magic Garden using all things she had or found in the yard. This fishing village is in a cast iron flower urn, from Lakewood cemetery that her dad got in the 60’s. The log from her backyard had that incredible moss growing on it. These gnomes have been living in a house plant, so they have been magic for some time. Magic Gardener, RuthAnn left plenty of space for the grandkids to arrange the stones into roads, because they love Matchbox cars. There will be even more fun added once her grandkids get their hands on it, well their toys in it.

Punch Bowl Mushroom

RuthAnn also created these cool Punch Bowl Mushrooms. These simple kids garden inspiration are created from punch bowls glued on top of ordinary flower vases (you know those kind that you have a bunch of at home). Magic Gardener, RuthAnn used E6000 glue to connect the pieces. These super fun DIY garden cuties are sprinkled throughout her garden. Magic Garden Tip: Plastic bowls are better for smaller kids, glass bowls create cool light reflections for older or more careful kids.

What is next for RuthAnn? She is turning a vintage milk can into a Magic Garden Farm. We can’t wait for those pictures too. Thanks for sharing your Magic, RuthAnn!
